I've completed 2 rows so far of my Little Flowers baby blanket. It takes me about 15 mins to hook one medallion, hook it to previous row and then to it's neighbour... really hoping I'm going to speed up as I go along :/ Good news is that two thirds of the way through 2nd row I have managed to work out how to bind over the previous medallion's yarn end. Instead of the 400 tails to sew in only 15 to do :D
Tricky Nicky's Crafty Exploits
There was a letter in The Times recently about how to define an intellectual. The writer said that an intellectual is someone who can go into an empty room and resist the temptation to try on a tea-cosy. We have all failed this test miserably. http://yarnstorm.blogs.com/knitblog/knitting/page/9/

Flowers everywhere!
(written in Ravelry under my "Little Flowers" project)
Inspiration
As is the way with all good things, I discovered Jo’s wonderful shop via word of mouth and decided to set off and visit. Currently, the shop (Just Unwind) is just off my route to work. Good thing for my spirit, not necessarily so good for my house space ;)

Easter Weekend!

Spring has sprung, and so have the weeds!
A new year has begun and the sight of our poor garden (after 2 years neglect) has shamed me /o\ It has been niggling at me, which has eventually turned into insistant nagging especially now that Spring has gotten underway. The Forsythia shrub and the Daffodils announced the beginning of Spring for us. Then the weeds decided in the last couple of weeks the weather was "just right" to grow in abundance. Well, I can't really complain because if I had been looking after the garden in the first place I'd not have so many weeds to pull :) I'm putting it down to experience. Not only am I learning what is a "weed" and how tenaciously they grow, but what plants they've been hiding!

New Year & grasping the nettle.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And it is. I don't care what's been happening lately, it's a New Year and the right time to freshen up & clear the gunge out of one's life and house! But why is it at this time of year that we feel the need to do this? .... um a good question. I guess because I need to be doing something to brush away the grey and hibernatory feeling that the winter months bring on. It's also a good time to give myself a kick up the a*&% and finish things off and motivate myself.

Up, Up and Away!
If that were only the case, still too sleepy and hot at the moment. The lovely cuppa tea of Earl Grey I made this morning is trying it's best... not quite sure how Jonathan Ross is helping though on Radio 2.
